The Pier

Cherry Grove Pier is one of the most beloved landmarks in North Myrtle Beach, offering visitors a true taste of the Carolina coast. Built in the 1950s, the pier has weathered storms and stood the test of time, becoming a favorite destination for locals and tourists alike. Over the years, it’s been a place to catch your first fish, watch the sunrise over the Atlantic, or simply enjoying a peaceful walk along the shore.

Today, the pier stretches 985 feet into the ocean and is a hotspot for fishing, sightseeing, and relaxing by the water. Anglers of all levels are welcome, and the pier is known for great catches like king mackerel, flounder, and sea trout. You can bring your own gear or rent what you need from the on-site tackle shop, which also sells bait and offers daily and seasonal fishing passes.

A View Of The Sea

Even if you’re not there to fish, Cherry Grove Pier is worth a visit for the incredible views alone. It’s a perfect spot for photography, dolphin watching, or just enjoying the fresh ocean breeze. At the end of the pier, there’s a two-story observation deck that gives you a wide view of the beach and ocean.

The Driftwood Restaurant and Bar

Feeling hungry after your fishing trip? The Driftwood Restaurant and Bar is right on-site. It offers a casual dining experience with seafood baskets, burgers, sandwiches, salads, and a full bar with tropical cocktails and frozen drinks. Indoor and outdoor seating lets you enjoy your meal with a view of the ocean, making it a great stop before or after walking the pier.
